Sorry for the lack of updates again, this post is about our trip to the Coleby farm on the 15th May 2011.

It’s outing time again! RRY spontaneously decided to pack them snack and goodies and head out to the farm of Robert’s dad, Arthur, way out in the Karkloof. Boy was it a surprise , it felt like the middle of nowhere after just 30km driving. as you can see from the slideshow, we enjoyed the amazing views from the clifftop as their farm borders on the Sappi plantations. The views just went on and on and we had to stop and marvel that God created all of this!

Next up we took a real bush-whacking drive in the Coleby’s 30-odd year-old Landy (rock solid!) to their dam where we attempted (often to no avail) to skip the “right stone” across the water. Yes, yes, some of us tried a brick, but hey, two skips is probably the best you’re going to get, right? The day was perfect and the sun was just right…thank you Lord!

To end everything off we bumped our way to the Coleby’s hand-made campsite, which struck us as a very cool secluded spot, plus they have a waterfall which people would pay R25 entry to a reserve to see!

So to sum up, it was a very enjoyable day in God’s creation, with good fun had by all, thanks must go to the Coleby’s for a great morning! Check out the pictures below to see what we got up to!

Our “Slide” slideshow system is down, sorry. For now here’s the old-style slideshow to enjoy. There are plenty of images, it might take up to 2 minutes to load.

Tell them about the pepper ticks!!! Ok, I will. Pepper ticks are the size of ground pepper and give you tick bite fever which will put you in bed for three days! And we were crawling in the things after all of our stomping through the bush and grassland. But a week later we are all still standing so seem to have been spared! It’s good to be African!

    Cheers Matt.
