Today was the first time we arrived at the garage and didn’t have to pull out boxes/sit on the floor to begin: we simply sat down, and began! (This might sound stupid, but trust me, it’s considered a luxury from what were at!)
We began by actually explaining some of the history behind the Tabernacle, recounting the 400-odd years of captivity the Israelites had to endure before being led out of Egypt by Moses, just after the 10 plagues we read about in the Bible.
Because the people of God eventually had to wander the desert for 40 years, God instructed them to build the Tabernacle, with exact measurements, and lots of symbolism behind all the features of the construction, like the different layers of the Tabernacle roofing cloths, each symbolizing, 2000 years before Christ, God’s glory and His ingenuity in commanding his people and reflecting his glory.
Each of us learnt some very interesting facts about this really interesting structure, as well as what some of the features actually looked like! Below you can check out the photo gallery where we have put pics of various Tabernacle features and the structure itself, and also included is a page detailing exact measurements and materials of the Tabernacle as instructed in the Bible. Enjoy!
