Bridges Of Hope–9 May 2010

Sorry everyone, I’ve been quite busy of late so I apologize for the back post…this one’s from last week!

Today was what could be called a different session of youth, but then in a good way ;-) because we got to help the even younger population of the youth: the Sunday School, along with several orphans from the “Bridges Of Hope” orphanage in Lidgetton, who would join the Sunday School kids on what was Mother’s Day, to make goodies and cards for their mothers. (it was tragic though to think the orphans would be making goodies for mothers they don’t have.)

So that’s where our bunch came in, and we had a great time helping, colouring, wrapping and sticking with the little ones, who were really adorable. (see pictures) Also, as the day coincided with the giving of knitted jerseys to the orphans  it really put a smile on our faces to see how these kids enjoyed making the cards and bath salts! (which was actually quite a potent mixture, and would make Mom’s skin “so soft she wouldn’t know what to do with herself”–Tam!;-))

Below is a gallery of some pictures of the session with the Sunday School kids plus the Bridges of Hope orphans; Alex’s ones are admittedly better (My excuse is his phone is better!) but these were the ones at hand:

What Went Down–14 February 2010

Technically, nothing actually went down today, because as I might have mentioned before, RRY are involved in the SNAC Service in the evenings at 5.30pm, and we practice weekly at 6pm on Wednesdays. This week, Alex and myself were asked to play the music for the morning service just for this week (and the rest of the youth generally take part in the evening) hence us having to take a rain check on the sessions for this week. Catch us again next Sunday (21st February) where we’ll continue with youth.

Check out the message from the 14th by clicking here.

Remember you’re most welcome to come to SNAC services, Sundays at 5.30pm. Hope to see you there!
