Wake up! Half an hour to go before a huge fry up at church! See you at 8.30!
When I got that SMS, I knew skipping my own breakfast would be a necessity, and so it was, because just half an hour later Jenna, Shaun, Alex and I were enjoying a huge breakfast of bacon and eggs, all whilst basking in the sun outside the RRY den. Since we had to catch up a bit (RRY was “off” for the school holidays) we discussed fundraisers, the event schedule for the term, school progress and of course, Christian influences: we all felt strongly that at the moment we’d love to have a lot of new blood in the Youth, but needed to focus on “quality” rather than “quantity.” So we’d rather have a good group of people and enrich their Christian experience (or bring them to Christ) than have hundreds of kids who don’t actually pitch up for the youth. (And go somewhere else during that time in the pretence to their parents that “they were at youth”)
That will essentially be how RRY will go about activities this school term; check the next post for our term activity planner. Also, don’t forget to check our Facebook Group, Rising River Youth at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=50458499471
