This is still a back post, I’m doing my best to update regularly!!
Tick…tick…”Aarrggh, I can’t find one??!”
If you stood outside the RRY garage this Sunday, that’s probably what you’d hear…
Starting with a trek to the hall for coffee (Clearly the kettle isn’t forthcoming as yet!!) an enthusiastic bunch of us sat down on chairs at a table to begin what I’d call the 1st proper youth session! (Alex had some extra garden chairs and a table, which now ‘belong’ to RRY, which explains the italics!!)
Anyhow, we started off with an interesting game. Looking at a poster of all the books of the Bible behind us, Jenna, Juan, Marc, Alex and I played the “pass the bomb” game. The idea is simple: You set the “bomb” going, which makes ticking noises, and say a certain book of the Bible, and pass it on. If the bomb “explodes” when you have it, you get a letter. When you get “O-U-T” you’re…well, out! Now the bomb has a random timer, so you’ll never know how long it takes to go off. First we started with books of the New Testament, then Old, then onto harder ones like books with “Z.” Soon we were all out and Marc and Juan were the two left, hooting and screaming as they desperately tried to name a book: Marc won in the end!
Next we began our next topic: Genesis. We had a very interesting and absorbing discussion about Genesis 1, evolution, and the fact that Genesis 1 and 2 repeat themselves, a repetition we felt had a meaning. Isn’t it cool how you can get so much out of just one chapter? What a true word that was, because we had seemingly just begun, when the church came out, but we definitely went home knowing more about God and his great Word the Bible!
