ABOUT THE GROUP

Rising River Youth is the youth group who meet at the Upper Umgeni Presbyterian Church in Howick. We are a small friendly group of Christians, and Sundays mean the time to come together to learn about the wonders of our Lord Jesus Christ. We occasionally plan spur-of-the-moment outings, which result in great fun, but we enjoy the fun that meeting together in the Lord’s name brings. As the Bible says in Hebrews 10:24-25:

“Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, but let us encourage one another– and all the more as you see the day approaching!”

Our focus now is, by learning from God in the times we get together, to grow our little group into something that truly can influence our community, and get us all fired up for Jesus!

ABOUT THE PLACE

At the moment we meet in Nigel’s office because we did research on Israel last year and we have just stayed there.

RRY’s garage is completed, (Click HERE for details) and our little group have worked hard in renovating a garage for the use of the youth.  We have painted, re-carpeted and cleaned, and it’s now a fantastic place to meet!

ABOUT THE MEMBERS

Our group consists of  Alex,* Sue, Paul, Pete and Shaun,* our youth leaders, and our members,(Regulars and otherwise ) namely Matthew**, Francois, Jenna, Marc, Juan, Kayla, Claire, Ann,* Christopher, Jess, Robert, Oscar and Jonathan.

*These members/leaders have not been coming lately/have moved to other church families, for various reasons**.
